Vizslas are Hunt Point Retrievers; versatile dogs equally at home on the high ground, low ground and foreshore.
Having said that, in my eyes they are truly in their element on the hill, working alongside their handler, in pursuit of the ‘King of Gamebirds’.
We had the opportunity to hunt some truly wild birds on the Isle of Skye, on a moor that isn’t managed for grouse, so we worked hard and earned our brace of birds.
Both Yogi and Islay are youngsters, so it was great to see them stretch their legs, and start to learn the job they have been selectively bred for generations to perform.
